Meet Blane Stewart

Blane Stewart has been in the mortgage industry for more than 20 years, helping thousands of families purchase and refinance homes. Blane started his mortgage career around 2001; after owning a successful mortgage company for 16 years, he joined NFM Lending in 2017 and quickly became one of its top producers. During his best year in 2021, he personally originated about $76 million in loans and his office closed roughly $170 million.

Blane lives in Central Virginia, nestled among the Blue Ridge Mountains. He is married and has two children. When he isn’t guiding clients, you can find him hiking local trails, cycling, diving into cold mountain pools or training for triathlons. Blane is passionate about personal growth and enjoys reading, travel and mentoring other loan officers. He leads a dedicated team of five support professionals who share his commitment to exceptional service and clear communication.

Blane’s philosophy is grounded in gratitude and service. What’s your guilty pleasure?

A sunrise hike followed by jumping into an icy mountain creek. Nothing wakes you up like a cold plunge!

Biggest risk you’ve taken?

Selling my mortgage company of 16 years to join NFM Lending in 2017 – trusting that the right partner would help my team serve clients better.

One piece of advice you’d give your younger self?

Enjoy the ride and worry less. Relationships matter far more than transactions

Causes you care about?

Our team volunteers regularly with local food banks and childhood hunger initiatives. Giving back to the community that trusts us with their mortgages is a priority.

Favorite animal and why?

A Falcon. I am a daredevil at heart, so seeing a falcon reminds me of the fun I have jumping out of airplanes.

Favorite food?

I absolutely love anything with Indian spices, the butter chicken is hard to beat.
